This is an truly unique parcel-gilt and ebonized Mahogany work table. Circa 1810, probably Viennese, the top formerly hinged with a lined basket interior underneath supported by a classically-draped woman holding aloft a leafy basket. The later fruitwood-banded circular top has a molded edge above a gilt-metal frieze. The triangular base is adorned with parcel-gilt birds and rests upon later bun feet, one bird possibly replaced.
This table would be a spectacular focal point set between two chairs.
